Located in the City of San Bruno, headquarters for YouTube, the award-winning San Bruno Park School District was established in 1907 with an enrollment of 47 students. In the years since, our schools have achieved California Distinguished School status along with local and national recognition for programs in music, science, math, and health services, including from the US Secretary of Education and San Mateo County School Boards Association’s Kent Award. Outdoor Education, now operated through San Mateo County Office of Education, was conceived in the San Bruno Park School District.
Today the District serves 2700 San Bruno students in five elementary schools and one middle school which is recipient of the California Department of Education’s Gold Ribbon Award. The District’s rich cultural and socioeconomic diversity is nurtured by a dedicated faculty committed to ensuring success for all students.
The District’s vision to transform its schools into Schools with Tomorrow Inside is twofold: to create 21st century learning centers that are necessary for students to be successful in a global economy, and to raise academic achievement and engage students in programs and curriculum that inspire them now to be productive critical thinkers who embrace diversity, curiosity, and innovation throughout their lives.
