Parents

Come and be a part of your child’s education at John Muir School by volunteering. There are numerous possibilities, some of which you can do at home.

To work on campus or attend field trips, you will need to be an approved volunteer. To do that, you will need to complete the volunteer paperwork, submit a TB test, complete finger printing, and attend a volunteer training. Once you are on the approved volunteer list, you will only need to resubmit a TB test once yours expires every 4 years.

Ways you can volunteer:

  1. help weekly with small group or one on one instruction in the classroom

  2. help with lunch yard duty

  3. help weekly with classroom prep work

  4. do prep work at home

  5. before and after school crossing guards

  6. assist with school gardening

  7. drive on field trips

  8. chaperone field trips

  9. lead a special class activity or project

  10. join the PTA, help or lead an event; Ice Cream Social, Pancake Breakfast, Talent Show, Beautification Work Days, Field Day/School picnic, or lead a new activity!
