Volunteering in Our School District
Thank you to everyone who volunteers in our schools! Our programs are stronger because of your support and involvement.
All volunteers must be cleared by the San Bruno Park School District (SBPSD) before volunteering in classrooms, assisting at lunch, attending field trips, or participating in other school activities.
NEW THIS YEAR: There is an additional requirement to be cleared to volunteer. Please carefully review all requirements below.
To Become an Approved Volunteer
1. Complete Volunteer Paperwork
Complete the Volunteer Forms and return them to your school office.
If you have been approved to volunteer in the past, you do not need to complete the paperwork again.
Please make sure your TB clearance has not expired. TB clearance is required every four years.
Your school office manager can confirm your current TB clearance status.
2. Complete TB Clearance
Volunteers must provide either a negative TB test or a physician-completed TB Risk Assessment Form to be cleared to volunteer.
TB tests or Risk Assessment Forms must be updated every four years.
If you have already submitted a current TB clearance, you do not need to complete it again until it expires.
Your school office manager can confirm your current TB clearance status.
3. Complete Fingerprinting
Fingerprinting forms are included in the volunteer paperwork.
Once your fingerprints have been cleared, you will not need to complete fingerprinting again to volunteer with SBPSD until your child leaves the district.
4. NEW THIS YEAR: Complete Mandated Reporter Training
California now requires volunteers to complete Mandated Reporter Training.
Visit the Mandated Reporter Training website to complete the training.
For instructions on creating an account and completing the training, please review the Mandated Training Instructions for Volunteers.
IMPORTANT: Certificates of completion must be submitted to your child's school.
You may upload your certificate using the appropriate school link below or provide a printed copy to the school office.
If you have children attending multiple school sites, please submit your certificate to EACH school where your children attend.
4. Attend Annual Volunteer Training (View Volunteer Presentation Here)
