Library Birthday Book Club

The goal of the John Muir Birthday Book Club is to add good literature to our school library as well as to replace some well-read favorites. Children can have a special connection to the library by donating a newly purchased hardcover book to the library in honor of their birthday, a friend or family member’s birthday, anniversary, memorial, holiday, graduation, or any special occasion.

How the Birthday Book Club works:

  • Specific books have been pre-purchased to supplement our current library collection and are available for you to purchase and donate to the school library.

  • Use the Birthday Book Club form to make a special donation to honor a child’s birthday. Or to make an honorary donation for a friend, a family member or an educator.

  • Each month a list of books available for purchase will be included in the school newsletter. If you wish to donate a book, just fill out the Donor  form and send it back to the school with a check for $18.00 per book (made out to John Muir School).

  • Hardcover books may also be purchased from a bookstore. Fill out donor form and bring it with the book to the school library.

  • A photo of the birthday child holding the book will be taken and placed on the photo wall at school.

  • A bookplate will be placed inside the book with the child’s name and date. The new book will be added to the library collection.

  • Ms. Eschen will thank the student and award them a special certificate.
